Terms and Conditions of Sale

Version / last updated: 3 November 2026. These terms apply to each student from the moment they sign up and accept them.

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to the online English lessons sold on englisylessons.com. Please read them before you buy. If you are a consumer, the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005, "Codice del Consumo") gives you rights that these Terms do not limit.

1. Who I am (the seller)

Amir H. Moghisi, individual English tutor
Address: Via Bontempi 4, 06122 Perugia (PG), Italy
Email: info@englisylessons.com
VAT number and tax code: see the Legal Notice.

"I", "me" and "my" mean the seller above. "You" means the person who buys lessons. When a parent or guardian buys lessons for a minor, "you" means the parent/guardian and "the student" means the child.

2. The service

  • One-to-one online English lessons, held live over video on Google Meet. You need a stable internet connection, a device with camera and microphone.
  • Each paid lesson lasts 50 minutes.
  • Lessons are planned around the student's needs, based on the onboarding form.
  • After lessons I may add notes in your account (homework, vocabulary, grammar points).
  • Lessons are not recorded.
  • Lessons are a private tutoring service. Unless stated otherwise, they do not lead to an official qualification, and I cannot guarantee a particular exam result.

3. Account

To book and buy lessons you need an account. You must give true information and keep your password private. One account per student.

Minors.
- Students aged 14–17 may create their own account, but only a parent or legal guardian may buy lesson packs and accept these Terms on their behalf.
- For students under 14, a parent or legal guardian must create or supervise the account, provide their name and consent on the onboarding form, and make all purchases.
- For lessons with students under 14, I recommend a parent/guardian is available at home during the lesson.

4. The free trial lesson

  • Every new student can take one free 50-minute trial lesson. It is free and creates no obligation to buy.
  • Only one trial per student (per person, not per account or per email address).
  • Lesson packs can be bought only after the trial lesson has been completed. This lets us both check that the lessons are a good fit. If I have already taught you before, I may unlock lesson packs for you without a trial.

5. Lesson packs, prices and payment

Pack Lessons (credits) Price (one-off payment) Valid for
4-lesson pack 4 × 50 min €132 (€33 per lesson) 6 weeks from when credits are added
8-lesson pack 8 × 50 min €252 (€31.50 per lesson) 2 months from when credits are added
12-lesson pack 12 × 50 min €360 (€30 per lesson) 3 months from when credits are added

Personal packs. I may also offer an individual student a personal pack with its own number of lessons, price and validity. Its details are shown to you before you buy, it is bought through the same checkout, and these Terms apply to it in the same way. Sales, discount codes and other special prices do not apply to personal packs. A free personal pack (€0) can be claimed only once.

  • All prices are final prices in euro. No VAT is added: the price you see is the price you pay.
  • An electronic invoice (fattura elettronica) is issued for every purchase, as required by Italian tax law, and you receive a copy. Where stamp duty (marca da bollo, €2) is due on the invoice, I pay it: it is not added to your price.
  • Each pack is a one-off payment, made in advance. It is not a subscription: nothing renews and you are never charged again automatically. If you want more lessons, you buy a new pack.
  • At the moment you pay by bank transfer to my Wise euro account (account holder: Amir Hossein Moghisi). The IBAN and the payment reference to use are shown at checkout and in the confirmation email. Please use the reference so I can match your payment. When card payments through Stripe Checkout are available (card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay), they are shown at checkout as an option; in that case your payment details are handled by Stripe and, where you choose them, PayPal, Apple or Google, and I never see your full card details.
  • Each pack gives you credits: 1 credit = 1 lesson of 50 minutes.
  • Credits are valid for the period shown for your pack (in the table above, or on the personal pack offered to you), counted from the day the contract is concluded (when your credits are added). Packs bought before these Terms changed keep the validity they had when you bought them. If you can't use your credits because of me (for example, I cancel lessons, I'm unavailable, or I have no free slots for you), the expiry date is extended by the same amount of time. I will email you a reminder 10 days before your unused credits expire. Once this period has ended, I may remove any unused credits from your balance. Expired credits are not refundable, except as required by law (see section 9).
  • Credits are personal to the student and cannot be transferred to another student without my agreement.

6. How the contract is made

  1. You choose a pack and click to go to checkout.
  2. You tick the two required boxes: acceptance of these Terms and the express request to start lessons straight away, described in section 8. A pack can only be bought with both ticks. Then your order is created with its own payment reference.
  3. You pay. At the moment that means a bank transfer to the IBAN shown at checkout: the contract is concluded and your credits are added when I confirm I have received your payment (normally within 1–2 working days of it arriving); I email you when the credits are added. When card payments through Stripe Checkout are available and you pay that way, the contract is concluded when Stripe confirms the payment, and your credits are added then.
  4. After the contract is concluded I send you a confirmation email (a "durable medium") containing the order details, these Terms, the model withdrawal form, and confirmation of your request to start lessons, as required by Art. 51(7) and (8) Codice del Consumo.

If you spot a mistake before paying, you can go back and correct it, or simply close the checkout page. I store the concluded contract (order details and the version of these Terms you accepted); you can always consult it in the confirmation email, and I will send you a copy on request. I do not subscribe to any code of conduct (Art. 12 Legislative Decree 70/2003).

Contract language. The contract can be concluded in English or Italian: the contract language is the language of the version of the site you use at checkout (the Italian version of these Terms is at englisylessons.com/it/terms/). Both versions have the same content. If they differ, for consumers the version in the language in which the contract was concluded prevails, and in any case of doubt the interpretation most favourable to the consumer applies (Art. 35(2) Codice del Consumo).

7. Booking and cancelling lessons

  • Lessons are booked on the Englisy website (in your account), subject to availability. Each booking creates an event in my Google Calendar with the Google Meet link for the lesson.
  • Weekly bookings. You can book the same day and time every week, up to 2 months ahead. Each lesson in the series uses 1 credit, and only the weeks you have valid credits for are booked (the site shows you which ones before you confirm). Each lesson in the series is a separate booking: you can cancel any single lesson under the 20-hour rule below, or cancel all the remaining lessons of the series at once. Lessons in the series that are more than 20 hours away get their credits back; lessons less than 20 hours away follow the late-cancellation rule.
  • Lessons I book for you. I can also book a lesson for you from my side, for example a time we have agreed together, including at short notice or further ahead than the normal booking window (up to 6 months). I do this only when we have agreed it. It uses one of your credits and you receive the usual confirmation email. If you get a confirmation for a lesson you didn't agree to, tell me and I will cancel it and return your credit, even if it is less than 20 hours away.
  • Which credit is used. A lesson can only use a credit that is still valid on the date of the lesson, and the credit that expires soonest is always used first. If you don't have a credit that will still be valid on that date, the lesson can't be booked.
  • Free cancellation more than 20 hours before the lesson start time. The credit goes back to your balance. To change the time of a lesson, cancel it and book a new one.
  • Less than 20 hours before the lesson it can no longer be cancelled in your account. If you can't attend, please let me know, but the lesson counts as used and the credit is deducted.
  • Lateness and no-shows
    (a) Lessons start at the booked time. If you are running late, please let me know as soon as possible by sending me a message before the lesson starts (by email to info@englisylessons.com, or through any other contact I have given you personally), saying roughly how late you will be.
    (b) If you have let me know you will be late, I will wait for you. The lesson will still end at the originally booked time, so it will be shorter, and it counts as a full lesson.
    (c) If you have not been in touch and have not joined within 10 minutes of the start time, the lesson counts as a no-show: it is not rescheduled and the lesson credit is used.
    (d) If I am late, the lost time will always be made up in full, either by extending that lesson or, if that isn't possible, in a later lesson. If I don't show up for a booked lesson without letting you know, your credit is returned and you also receive one extra lesson credit free of charge, as an apology. If I have to cancel a booked lesson, I will let you know as early as possible and your credit is returned in full.
    (e) If a technical problem on my side stops a lesson, your credit is returned or the lost time is made up. If the problem is on your side (connection, device, audio/video), the rules above on lateness apply.
  • In genuinely exceptional cases (for example sudden illness or emergencies) I may waive the 20-hour rule at my discretion.
  • To cancel, use your account or email info@englisylessons.com. The time of cancellation is the time the cancellation reaches me.

8. Your 14-day right of withdrawal (consumers)

If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days, without giving any reason (Art. 52 Codice del Consumo). The withdrawal period ends 14 days after the day the contract is concluded.

How to withdraw. Send me a clear statement of your decision to withdraw (for example an email to info@englisylessons.com) (Art. 54 Codice del Consumo). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but you don't have to. It is enough to send it before the 14 days end.

Effects of withdrawal. I will refund all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal, using the same payment method you used, unless you expressly agree otherwise (Art. 56 Codice del Consumo). For a bank transfer, I refund by bank transfer to the account you paid from (I do not charge you any fees). For a Stripe payment, the refund goes back to the original method through Stripe. You will not pay any fees for the refund.

If lessons started during the withdrawal period. Packs are sold so that you can start lessons straight away, before the 14 days are over. For this reason, to buy a pack, at checkout you must:
(a) expressly request that the service starts during the withdrawal period (Art. 51(8) Codice del Consumo), and
(b) acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed (Art. 59(1)(a) Codice del Consumo).

If you then withdraw, you must pay an amount proportional to the lessons already provided up to the moment you tell me you are withdrawing, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract (Art. 57(3) Codice del Consumo). In practice: I refund the unused credits, and I keep the price of the lessons already taken — including lessons cancelled less than 20 hours in advance — calculated at the per-lesson price of your pack (pack price ÷ number of lessons). I may choose to refund late-cancelled lessons too, at my discretion. Once all lessons in the pack have been delivered, the right of withdrawal no longer applies.

The free trial lesson is not a purchase and has no cost, so no payment is involved if you decide not to continue.

9. Refunds outside the withdrawal period

  • After the 14-day period, refunds are only possible for unused credits, and are granted at my discretion, for example if you can no longer take lessons for serious reasons.
  • Credits already used (including late cancellations and no-shows) are not refundable.
  • Approved refunds are made using the same payment method you used, normally within 14 days: for a bank transfer, by bank transfer to the account you paid from (I do not charge you any fees); for a Stripe payment, back to the original method through Stripe. Refunds of unused credits from a discounted pack are calculated at the per-lesson price of that pack.
  • This section does not affect any right you have by law, including your right of withdrawal (section 8) and your rights if the service is not provided as agreed.

10. Conduct and lesson materials

  • Please be respectful and on time. I may end a lesson or suspend an account in case of abusive or inappropriate behaviour; unused credits will then be refunded unless the behaviour was serious.
  • Materials I share (worksheets, notes, slides) are for the student's personal learning only and may not be redistributed or sold. Third-party materials remain the property of their owners.

Corporate packages

  • An organisation (for example your employer) can buy a package of lesson hours for its employees. The package (price, number of hours, how long they are valid, invoicing and how the package ends) is agreed in a separate written agreement between me and the organisation. You don't pay anything for these lessons.
  • These Terms apply to your lessons, except for the sections on prices, payment, withdrawal and refunds. Those are matters between me and the organisation. The consumer right of withdrawal does not apply to a purchase made by an organisation.
  • Weekly lesson and cancellations. You have a fixed weekly lesson. You can move or cancel it free of charge up to 20 hours before it starts. If you cancel less than 20 hours before, or don't show up, the lesson counts as used and is deducted from the package. Late cancellations and no-shows appear in the attendance report your organisation sees. If I cancel or I'm late, the rules in section 7 apply, and any hours owed are returned to the package.
  • Your organisation sees your attendance and hours used, and, only if you agree, your progress reports, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
  • If you leave the organisation or the package ends, your corporate lessons stop. You can still buy lessons for yourself under the normal Terms.

11. Liability

I will deliver lessons with professional care. I am not responsible for problems caused by your internet connection, device or third-party platforms outside my control, or for events beyond my reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits my liability where the law does not allow it (including for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, Art. 1229 Civil Code), nor limits your rights as a consumer.

12. Complaints

If something goes wrong, email info@englisylessons.com. I aim to reply within 7 days.

Out-of-court dispute resolution. The EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025 (Regulation (EU) 2024/3228). You can still use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body for consumers (Arts. 141 ff. Codice del Consumo) — a list is available at https://consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu/dispute-resolution-bodies — and you can get free advice from the European Consumer Centre Italy (www.ecc-netitalia.it). I am not committed or obliged to use a specific ADR body (Art. 141-sexies Codice del Consumo). If we can't solve a complaint together, I will tell you which ADR body could deal with it and whether I agree to take part. You always keep the right to go to court.

13. Governing law and courts

These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence (Art. 6 Regulation (EC) 593/2008, "Rome I").

For consumers, the competent court is mandatorily the court of the place where the consumer lives or is domiciled, if in Italy (Art. 66-bis Codice del Consumo). For non-consumers (e.g. companies buying lessons for staff), the court competent under the general rules of Italian law has jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these Terms

I may update these Terms for future purchases. The version you accepted at checkout continues to apply to that purchase.
