Cookie Notice
Version / last updated: 3 November 2026. This notice applies to all visitors to the site.
Short version: englisylessons.com uses only strictly necessary and functional (technical) storage — the things the site needs to log you in, remember choices you make (such as language) and take payments safely. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, so you won’t see a cookie banner. I count visits with Netlify Analytics, which works from Netlify’s server logs and stores nothing on your device (see below).
Why there is no cookie banner
Under Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code (implementing Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC) and the Italian Data Protection Authority's Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools of 10 June 2021, consent is not required for cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for (technical cookies, including functional ones that remember your choices). Consent is required only for analytics (unless anonymised), profiling, advertising or other non-essential tools — and this site uses none of them. For technical tools, this notice (Art. 13 GDPR, linked from every page footer) is enough.

Stripe. Stripe cookies are set only when you go to checkout (and, if the Stripe script is loaded on our pages, on those pages). They are needed to process payments securely and prevent fraud. Stripe's cookie use is described at https://stripe.com/cookie-settings and https://stripe.com/privacy.
Booking. Lessons are booked on this website; no Google page is opened and no Google cookies are set here. Each booking creates an event in my Google Calendar with the Google Meet link. If you open Google Calendar or Google Meet, Google's cookie and privacy rules apply there: https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.
Video lessons. Lessons take place on Google Meet (Google Ireland Limited), which has its own cookie policy.
What we do not use
- No Google Analytics or any other analytics cookies or scripts (visitor counts come only from Netlify’s server logs)
- No advertising or social-media pixels (Meta, TikTok, etc.)
- No embedded videos, maps or social widgets that track you
- No fingerprinting
- No third-party fonts: the site's font (Inter) is hosted on this website, so no font requests go to Google or other providers
If this ever changes, I will update this notice and ask for your consent before any non-essential cookie is set.
How to control storage
You can delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time. If you block or delete the items above, you will be logged out, the site may not remember your language choice, and you may not be able to complete a payment.
